US, Russia and China: Coping with Rogue States and Terrorists Groups

AN APPEAL TO SECRETARY MADELEINE ALBRIGHT by Leni Friedman Valenta 8/2/2014

Mme Secretary, as a longstanding Democrat like you, I am appealing to you, and to John Kerry and President Obama, to stop your veiled criticism of Israel. Working with my husband, Jiri, on his memoir, I cannot help but see parallels twixt the Nazi-engineered, 1938 Munich tragedy and the present one launched by terrorist Hamas against Israel.  Were he alive, your dad, Josef Korbel, my husband´s mentor, would surely see the parallels between embattled, 1938  Czechoslovakia, a democratic regime surrounded by authoritarian regimes, and 2014 Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East.  He would have surely  condemned not only the terrorists, but perfidious Albion. As in 1938, the majority of Brits again support Nazi-like terrorists, confusing the victim with the perpetrators. I know you abhor Chamberlains. Considering the family histories of you and Jiri, and your dad´s vision, I appeal to you to speak with your powerful voice in defense of  our strategic and democratic ally, Israel.
