The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.

Marcel Proust

Dear Reader,

Welcome to this rather strange (or even abnormal) creation that tries to view such vast themes as international relations, (world) politics, etc. with ‘new eyes’. An attentive Reader might have noticed a mistake in the title. It was made on purpose: it’s not that I want to duck from critics, or duck you into some crazy ideas – the purpose is just to make a mistake and watch you notice it. I do not claim this blog to be an overwhelming work that will examine every theory concerning these themes, but hope that you, dear Reader, will be at least entertained.

The word ‘bipolar’ in the title should not confuse you: it has nothing to do with the idea of bipolarity in IRT. It stands for the ‘bipolar affection’, which will be evident for you quiet soon. This blog consists of a conversation between Dr. Fox and Sir Popper, via blog posts, letters, etc., without a strict chronological order. [1]

The main idea of the blog is to show a dispute between a political scientist/analyst and a rational critic. The purpose, however, is not to show you some ideas, but ask questions – make you ask them. Any body of knowledge that calls itself ‘science’ must always be examined, questioned and doubted; sometimes, even its’ roots (sometimes, especially the roots).

The author will hope that the Reader would not be disappointed and would spend his time reasonably while reading this.

Looking forward to see you on the next page.

Yours sincerely,

The author.

1. Although one can easily find an allusion (at least, to Sir Doktor Professor Karl Raimund Popper), the reader should always keep in mind that here she (or he) will not find any connections to real persons, but merely some peculiar ideas of a bipolar brain. The names used here are to depict concepts, not persons. Despite their titles, the author will try to write it in the most comprehendible language (since it is just a blog).
