Young Deep Cuts Commission - Call for Applications

The Deep Cuts Project is happy to announce the launch of the new Young Deep Cuts Commission.This project aims to provide young arms control experts an independent, nongovernmental platform to develop and promote new ideas for the revitalization of nuclear arms control and deepen their expertise. We are looking for twelve master's students, doctoral students or non-governmental young professionals in their first or second year of practice from Russia, the United States, or Germany. Successful candidates will join the Young Deep Cuts Commission and actively contribute to its outreach activities, joint publications, and track 2.0 discussions among the group of young commissioners as well as with wider audiences up until the end of the current project phase (December 2022). Members will also benefit from collaboration and mentoring opportunities with the senior experts of the Deep Cuts Commission. The Deep Cuts Commission is a joint project of the Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy at the University of Hamburg (IFSH), the Arms Control Association (ACA), and the Primakov Institute of World Economy and International Relations, Russian Academy of Sciences (IMEMO, RAN) with the active support of the German Federal Foreign Office.
