On January 24, 2014 RIAC Director General Andrey Kortunov and MGIMO-University Pro-Rector Artyom Malgin, a RIAC Member (Russian-Polish Group on Difficult Issues), took part in the Russian-Polish roundtable on transparency of military exercises, European security and advancement of relations between Russia and Poland. On January 24, 2014 RIAC Director General Andrey Kortunov and MGIMO-University Pro-Rector Artyom Malgin, a RIAC Member (Russian-Polish Group on Difficult Issues), took part in the Russian-Polish roundtable on transparency of military exercises, European security and advancement of relations between Russia and Poland. The participants also discussed the latest analytical papers on bilateral relations prepared through cooperation between independent expert groups of the two countries.

The event was held in Warsaw within the format of the meeting of the Joint Coordination Group of Polish National Security Bureau and Russian Security Council, with welcome addresses made by Security Council Deputy Chairman Eugeny Lukyanov and Bureau Director Deputy Zbignev Vlosovich, the Group’s co-chairman.

The Polish side also included representatives of the Euro-Atlantic Association, Polish Institute of International Affairs and National Defense University, while the Russian participants included Deputy Chief of General Staff Oleg Salyukov, Head of Center for Defense Studies at Russian Institute for Strategic Studies Grigory Tishchenko, Counselor of Security Council Eugeny Lesko, and Russian diplomats in Warsaw.
