On April 17, 2014 RIAC held a Russian-Chinese business workshop “Prospects for Scientific and Technological Cooperation and Joint Investment Projects in High-Tech Processing Industries” with participation of the Russian National Service for Economic Security and DUKS company, high-tech scientists and industry experts, Russian and Chinese businesspersons, analysts, and representatives of Russian Foreign Ministry and Chinese Embassy to Moscow.
Opening the event, RIAC President Igor Ivanov stressed that the 2001 Russian-Chinese Treaty on Neighborhood, Friendship and Cooperation has laid a solid legal foundation for the bilateral relationship and the dynamically advancing contacts between the two countries.
In a more detailed account, Andrey Kulik, Director of the First Asian Department at Russian Foreign Ministry, pointed out that internationally Russia and China represent an effective diplomatic tandem, orientating their plans on high-tech exploits.
Other speakers dwelled on specific projects and investment proposals for cooperation in such sectors as energy, communications, biotechnology, new materials, helicopter building and personnel training.
