On September 13, 2022, after a summer break, a regular online international expert dialog on Russia-NATO relations resumed its work, bringing together experts, former diplomats and military, public leaders from Russia, the USA, and European NATO member-states.
The organizers of the dialog on the Russian side included RAS Institute for the U.S. and Canadian Studies and RAS Institute of Europe. The first autumn meeting focused on the future of the world order against the backdrop of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and the aggravation of the U.S.-China relations. Bipolar, multipolar and other models of international relations were considered, as well as the prospects for resuming Russian-Ukrainian negotiations. In addition, the participants discussed scenarios for possible escalation of the conflict on the territory of Ukraine and ways to prevent it. The discussion was moderated by Sergey Rogov, Academic Director of RAS Institute for the U.S. and Canadian Studies (ISKRAN), RIAC Member. Alexei Gromyko, Director of RAS Institute of Europe, RIAC Member, and Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director General, spoke at the meeting.
