Program Director Ivan Timofeev delivered a report at a workshop on Russia's role in the Euro-Atlantic security held by the City Council of Turku, Finland, and sponsored by the Alexander Institute of the University of Helsinki and the Atlantic Council of Finland.

The participants included members of the City Council, Russian and Finnish diplomats, as well as scholars and journalists. Reports were also presented by Hiski Hakkala, Professor at the University of Tampere; Alexander Izotov, Associate Professor at St. Petersburg State University; and Hanna Smith, a Researcher at the Alexander Institute, well-known Finnish foreign affairs journalist Jarmo Makela was the moderator.

As a next step of cooperation with the Finnish partners, RIAC will cosponsor "Russia and the World," a major conference to be held in Helsinki in October 2013.
