RIAC Implements Government Proposals. А+Standard program at the Russian Foreign Trade Academy

Following the recommendations of the Department for Development and Governance of Foreign Economic Relations of the Russia’s Ministry of Economic Development, RIAC held a training focused on testing its А+Standard program at the Russian Foreign Trade Academy. The event was organized for the personnel of support centers of export-oriented small and medium enterprises (SME) within the framework of a 7-day course “Regions’ Foreign Trade Activities” carried out in the Academy starting from February 25, 2014.

The RIAC team shared its recommendations and skills necessary for working with foreign partners, among them – arrangement of company websites to meet the needs of their sectoral specifics and target audiences, section-wise website content, and methods for companies’ advancement in the Internet. The training materials were upheld by a series of concrete cases from Russian and foreign firms. The training was absolutely interactive, with the participants dealing with a wide range of tasks and exercises, and brainstorming on several issues. The trainees got acquainted with the A+Standard methodology and were given special materials on the topic that enable them to share the information and skills with their colleagues in different regions.

“I perfectly remember the last fall meeting with our colleagues from the Ministry of Economic Development and the Academy, when the RIAC initiative to share the А+Standard program with exporters and my counterparts’ proposal to implement the program within the Academy seemed probable only in the long run. Our intensive preparations included analyzing numerous cases, elaborating guidelines and exercises. As this stage has been a success, we may as well carry on to the new frontiers of cooperation,” said RIAC Program Director Ivan Timofeev.

The training was attended by leaders and staff of exporters’ associations, business incubators and foundations from Yekaterinburg, Ufa, Tver, Ulyanovsk, Petrozavodsk and Cheboksary.

The key role in organization of the training was played by Sergey Mukhin, manager of program Regional Foreign Economic Activities at the Academy, who has been enormously helpful to have the training held at the Academy.

The RIAC team included Program Director Ivan Timofeev, Internet Projects Manager Alexander Teslya, Program Manager Ekaterina Chimiris, and Program Coordinator Anna Kuznetsova.
