On April 13, 2020, the Russian International Affairs Council held an online-discussion concerning COVID-19 situation in Japan.

Taisuke Abiru, Senior Research Fellow, the Sasakawa Peace Foundation, and Vladimir Nelidov, Associate Professor, MGIMO University; Research Fellow, RAS Institute of Oriental Studies, expressed their views on the situation from Tokyo and Moscow, respectively. Participants discussed recently introduced anti-coronavirus measures by the Japanese government, analyzed social, political and economic implications of the disease. Experts also touched upon issues Japan will face in relations with other countries in the aftermath of the pandemic.
