On October 19-20, 2015, St. Petersburg hosted the 14th All-Russia Forum "Strategic Planning in Russia's Regions and Cities: A Space for Choice and Choice of a Space". The agenda included roundtable "Areas for Russia's Cross-Border Cooperation: a Comparative Analysis" where representatives of RIAC delivered reports upon invitation of the Russian Ministry for Economic Development.
RIAC Deputy Program Director Timur Makhmutov spoke on the influence of international cooperation on development of Russia's border territories with the focus on investment in the Arctic research and personnel training for advancement of Arctic projects and lands.
RIAC member Vladimir Petrovsky, Chief Researcher at RAS Institute for Far Eastern Studies, described in detail prospects for Russian-Chinese cooperation, concentrating on the role of infrastructure in furthering cross-border contacts.
RIAC experts also presented their latest works on Russia's cross-border cooperation in the Arctic and the Far East, among them reports "Potential of the Russian Arctic for International Cooperation" and "Russian-Chinese Dialogue: Model 2015", as well as working paper "Development of Russian–Chinese Trade, Economic, Financial and Cross-Border Relations."
The event was attended by government officials, businessmen and key experts engaged in preparation of Russia's development strategies proceeding from the 2014 Federal Law "On Strategic Planning in the Russian Federation."
