On March 2-3, 2016 Brussels hosted a regular international high-level expert meeting on the formation of the Euro-Atlantic Security Leadership Group.

The meeting was organized by the Nuclear Threat Initiative with the participation of the European Leadership Network as a follow-up of the proposals for new approaches to European security, brought forward in early 2015 by RIAC President Igor Ivanov, former US Senator Sam Nunn and former British Defense Secretary Desmond Browne.

The meeting was attended by former high-ranking government officials and diplomats from the United States, United Kingdom, Turkey, Germany, Italy, Sweden and Romania. RIAC Director General Andrey Kortunov represented Russia at the meeting.
