On December 17, 2013 RIAC President Igor Ivanov met the head of the European Union delegation in Russia Ambassador Vygaudas Usackas. During the discussion, the parties touched upon the issues of preparation for the regular EU-Russia Summit scheduled for January 2014, the role of independent research centers and expert community in developing relations between Moscow and Brussels, possible ways and organizational mechanisms for revitalizing business dialogue in Europe.

On December 17, 2013 RIAC President Igor Ivanov met the head of the European Union delegation in Russia Ambassador Vygaudas Usackas. During the discussion, the parties touched upon the issues of preparation for the regular EU-Russia Summit scheduled for January 2014, the role of independent research centers and expert community in developing relations between Moscow and Brussels, possible ways and organizational mechanisms for revitalizing business dialogue in Europe.

Besides, the problems of developing relations between Russia and the Baltic states in economic and political spheres as part of the construction of “Greater Europe” were also on the agenda. Igor Ivanov spoke about the priorities of the Russian Council on the European track, peculiarities of RIAC project work and the Council’s plans for 2014. RIAC Director General Andrey Kortunov and Senior Advisor of the EU Delegation in Russia Rein Tammsaar also participated in the meeting.
