Launched in late 2012 for training young Russian scholars in the entire spectrum of skills needed for publication in foreign journals, RIAC’s project Global Science has generated article "Forward Russia! Sports Mega-Events as a Venue for Building National Identity" published by the Nationalities Papers: The Journal of Nationalism and Ethnicity. The article was written by Vitaly Gorokhov from Presidential Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration.

“Russia and the Baltic states: Problematizing the Soviet legacy Discourse”, the first paper of the series was produced by Yulia Nikitina, Assistant Professor at MGIMO University and pioneer of the 19 program participants, and appeared in American Nationalities Papers: The Journal of Nationalism and Ethnicity.

Global Science emerged as a vehicle to overcome the peripheral status of Russian humanities in the global knowledge market, because few publications in foreign outlets make a major barrier for Russian universities to obtain high international ratings.
