Short version

On October 24–28, 2019, the city of Feodosia (Crimea) was hosting the “Bridge” (“Bridge of Identity”), a culture and education youth forum on civil identity. The event was organized by the Center for Oriental Studies, headed by Vladimir Avatkov, RIAC expert, with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. RIAC experts Igor Okunev, Oleg Shakirov, and Konstantin Pakhalyuk took part in the forum as speakers, and Ivan Bocharov, RIAC Program Assistant, joined the event as a participant.

On October 24–28, 2019, the city of Feodosia (Crimea) was hosting the “Bridge” (“Bridge of Identity”), a culture and education youth forum on civil identity. The event was organized by the Center for Oriental Studies, headed by Vladimir Avatkov, RIAC expert, with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. The aim of the forum was to strengthen the all-Russian identity, harmonize interethnic relations, and consolidate harmoniously developed, socially responsible and proactive youth. In particular, the discussions focused on the need to address the internationalization of Russian higher education in the context of creating a positive image of Russia abroad. A RIAC report on web internationalization of universities was presented during the event.

The forum gathered more than 100 young people from different parts of Russia to develop innovative concepts and projects on strengthening the all-Russian civil identity. Expert seminars were held during the event involving representatives from leading Moscow universities, as well as federal ministries and departments.
