On March 8, RIAC Director General Andrey Kortunov was in Bucharest to attend an international conference on cooperation in the Black Sea Region timed to the fifth anniversary of the Black Sea Trust for Regional Cooperation, a program of the German Marshall Fund of the United States.

The Russian delegation also included Russian Ambassador to Romania Oleg Malginov, Minister-Counselor of the Russian Embassy in Bucharest Eugeny Yegorov, and Nadezhda Arbatova, Section Head of Center for European Integration at Institute of World Economy and International Relations.

Conference Agenda

At the sidelines, Dr. Kortunov met leaders of several Romanian think tanks and representatives of Romanian Foreign Ministry and Presidential Administration.

Agreements have been reached on advancement of the Russian-Romanian academic and social dialog with a view to the planned visit of Romanian Foreign Minister Titus Corlățean to Moscow and the longer-term outlook.
