Global mobility of the population entails not only a sharp increase in the cultural, social and ethnic diversity of the host societies, but also a change in the structure of local communities, primarily, cities. Participants discussed the main migration mega-trends, their implications for global cities, and their contribution to urban development, the problems of physical and imaginary migrant communities, the development of ethnic entrepreneurship, the problems of internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the urban environment, as well as the intergenerational integration of migrants in a big city.
