About the Conference

In 2015, Russia and Republic of Turkey celebrate the 95th anniversary of diplomatic relations. Relations between the two countries have transformed into a multidimensional partnership, while their cooperation in the energy field has become strategic.
Today, the two countries face fundamentally new challenges, and these challenges demand close attention. Strengthening energy security, searching for new sources of economic growth, determining vectors for cooperation with the European Union and other partners, and preventing destabilisation of the situation in the Middle East and the South Caucasus are all priority tasks for both Russia and Turkey. Cooperation in the Black Sea region, where the interests of the two countries have always intersected, continues to be of great significance.
On October 15, 2015, the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) in collaboration with the Center for Strategic Research of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey (SAM) and with the support of Renaissance Holding and CREON Energy, will host the International Conference titled "Russia and Turkey: Forging Multidimensional Partnership. 95th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations". The discussion will focus on the political, economic, academic, and cultural foundations of bilateral relations, as well as on the ways for their future development.
