On May 11, 2018, Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) hosted a meeting with National School of Public Policy (NSPP) with the assistance of Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Moscow. On May 11, 2018, Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) hosted a meeting with National School of Public Policy (NSPP) with the assistance of Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Moscow. The Pakistan delegation was headed by Saeed Ahmad Nawaz, Director of the 108th course of the National Directorate of the NSPP.

Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director General, made an opening speech at the event.

The sides discussed Russian-Pakistani relations, institutional cooperation of the two countries and their prospects in the regional and global context. Experts touched upon a wide range of issues, including cooperation in the SCO, the attitude to regional security and the role of world powers in South Asia. The participants noted that there is a need to create realistic views of Moscow and Islamabad on each other, overcoming stereotypes, and finding compromise while maintaining the progressive development of bilateral relations.
