Short version

On November 23, 2021, the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC), with the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) and Third Generation Environmentalism (E3G), held workshop on the approaches of Russia and the UK to address key issues of the energy transition, renewable energy sources (RES) and energy efficiency.The workshop was organized within the framework of the sixth round of the project “A New Agenda for Russia–UK Relations”.

On November 23, 2021, the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC), with the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) and Third Generation Environmentalism (E3G), held workshop on the approaches of Russia and the UK to address key issues of the energy transition, renewable energy sources (RES) and energy efficiency.The workshop was organized within the framework of the sixth round of the project “A New Agenda for Russia–UK Relations”.

The goals of the meeting were to to discuss the interests of Russia and the UK on climate change, energy transition, renewable energy sources and energy efficiency, to seek convergence of positions on key issues of the bilateral environmental agenda. Within the framework of the workshop two sessions were held. The first session was devoted to to the approaches of Russia and the UK to the development of renewable energy sources. The second one was dedicated to the views of the two countries on the possibilities of cooperation in the field of energy transition, the development of renewable energy sources and improving energy efficiency.

The event was attended by leading Russian and British experts.
