Short version

On June 26, 2023, the webinar “Elements of Islamic Law and Islamic banking in the countries of the East: what should Russian companies take into account?” was held. The meeting was organized by the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI).

In addition to the risks and opportunities of using Islamic banking, the meeting participants discussed political risks and the situation in Arab countries in the context of the implementation of Russian economic interests. During the discussion, there was a discussion on issues related to the Islamic law and its incorporation into the legal systems of the countries of the East. The participants also touched upon the interaction with counterparties in the GCC countries.
