March 18, 2019, Colombo (Sri Lanka) hosted the meeting of the International Advisory Group for Indian Ocean Security. The event was organized by the Pathfinder Foundation. Ksenia Kuzmina, RIAC Program Manager, took part in the event.

The opening was attended by Bernard Goonetilleke, Chairman of the Pathfinder Foundation; Akira Sugiyama, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan in Sri Lanka; and Shivshankar Menon, Chairman of the Group, former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of India. Representatives of analytical centers from Australia, China, France, Japan, Norway, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and the United States also took part in the meeting of the International Advisory Group.

The meeting was set up to prepare for the ‘Indian Ocean Security and Governance Conference’ scheduled to be held in 2020.
