Round Table “Russia-U.S. Nuclear Relations: Common Interests and Spheres for Cooperation”

At 17:00 on February 26, 2016 the Russian International Affairs Council will hold a round table “Russia-U.S. Nuclear Relations: Common Interests and Spheres for Cooperation” with participation of Sam Nunn, Chief Executive Officer of the Nuclear Threat Initiative (NTI) and former Chairman of the US Senate Armed Services Committee, Dr. Siegfried S. Hecker, Emeritus Director of Los Alamos National Laboratory, and Micah Lowenthal, Director of the Committee on International Security and Arms Control of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences (NAS).

At 17:00 (14:00 UTC) on February 26, 2016 the Russian International Affairs Council will hold a round table “Russia-U.S. Nuclear Relations: Common Interests and Spheres for Cooperation” with participation of Sam Nunn, Chief Executive Officer of the Nuclear Threat Initiative (NTI) and former Chairman of the US Senate Armed Services Committee, Dr. Siegfried S. What opportunities are there for the development of scientific and technical cooperation between Russia and the United States in the nuclear field? What progress in this sphere has already been made? How to avoid the risk of accidental use of nuclear weapons? How important is holding a dialogue between Russia and the United States in the nuclear field, given the current political situation? These and many other issues will be addressed during the discussions at the Russian International Affairs Council.
