On July 6, 2019, Beijing hosted an international conference "Russia and China: Strategic Partnership in a New Era" under the auspices of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS).

The event was timed to the 70th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and China, and gathered about a hundred experts, diplomats, government officials, and public figures of the two countries.

On July 6, 2019, Beijing hosted an international conference "Russia and China: Strategic Partnership in a New Era" under the auspices of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS).

The event was timed to the 70th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and China, and gathered about a hundred experts, diplomats, government officials, and public figures of the two countries.

The participants focused on the historical aspects of bilateral relations between Moscow and Beijing, the possibilities for expanding cooperation in the modern context, and the political, economic, scientific, technical, and humanitarian areas of interaction.

Russian side was represented by Andrey Denisov, RIAC Member, Ambassador of Russia to the People's Republic of China, Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director General, Dmitry Novikov, First Deputy Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on International Affairs, Alexander Lukin, Director of the Center for East Asian and SCO Studies at MGIMO MFA, Professor at HSE, Viktor Larin, Director of the Institute of History, Archaeology, and Ethnography of the Peoples of the Far East at the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Mikhail Delyagin, Director of the Institute of Problems of Globalization, and Lyudmila Filippova, Deputy Executive Director of the Russia-China Friendship Association.
