On September 14, 2020, the Institute for Research of International Economic Relations of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation conducted an online discussion on the role of the SCO in regulating international cooperation in Greater Eurasia.

The discussion was attended by Dr. Alexey Maslov, Acting Director of the RAS Institute of Far Eastern Studies; Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director General; Dmitry Trenin, RIAC Member, Director of the Carnegie Moscow Center; Professor Dr. Victoria Perskaya, Director of the Institute for Research of International Economic Relations of the Financial University. Konstantin Simonov, Director of the School of Political Science, Financial University, moderated the discussion. The discussion focused on the issues of the history of the SCO, possible prospects for the development of the organization in the field of security, economy and humanitarian cooperation, the Chinese Factor in the SCO, and the possibility of using the SCO in favor of Russian foreign policy.
