On May 29–30, 2018, Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) and Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) hold the 4th international conference «Russia and China: Cooperation in a New Era».

The tradition of holding an annual Conference became an integral part of Russian-Chinese dialogue. In 2018, for the first time the Conference will be held in Beijing (China) at CASS. On June 25, 2016, the Council and the Academy signed a Memorandum of Cooperation within the framework of the official visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to China in the presence of the heads of the two states.

On May 29–30, 2018, Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) and Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) hold the 4th international conference «Russia and China: Cooperation in a New Era».

The tradition of holding an annual Conference became an integral part of Russian-Chinese dialogue. In 2018, for the first time the Conference will be held in Beijing (China) at CASS. On June 25, 2016, the Council and the Academy signed a Memorandum of Cooperation within the framework of the official visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to China in the presence of the heads of the two states.

The conference will be held in cooperation with Russia-China Friendship Association, China-Russia Friendship Association, CREON Energy, CASS Institute of Quantitative and Technical Economics, and CASS Institute of Russian, Eastern European and Central Asian Studies. The Russian side expresses its gratitude to the International Foundation of Technology and Investment for support.

Russia and China have reached an unprecedentedly high level of mutual political trust. Now, the two powers face important tasks in filling the strategic partnership with exact projects and moving political, trade, economic, financial, and investment cooperation to a qualitatively new level. Cooperation between Russia and China remains a priority in the following areas: construction of a new architecture of international relations, reform of the world financial system, countering environmental challenges, stimulating integration processes in the Eurasian space and in the world. The common efforts of the two countries to maintain global and regional stability stay relevant. In modern conditions, the interaction between Moscow and Beijing in the area of cyberspace management and information security in the digital environment comes to the forefront. Joint projects in the scientific and technical areas and in the area of innovations are becoming more promising. A solid basis for Russian-Chinese cooperation is close contacts between the peoples of the two countries, so much attention is paid to strengthening cultural, humanitarian, and educational cooperation.

The conference will be attended by Igor Ivanov, RIAC President, Russia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs (1998–2004); Igor Morgulov, Deputy Foreign Minister, RIAC Member; Andrey Denisov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the People’s Republic of China, RIAC Member; Dai Bingguo, former State Councilor of State Council of the PRC, China-Russia Friendship Committee for Peace and Development Chairman; Xie Fuzhan, CASS President; Song Jingwu, Vice Chairman of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries; Rashid Alimov, SCO Secretary-General; as well as other leading representatives of state authorities, business circles, and the academic community of Russia and China.
