Third, the Baltic states will withdraw from the BRELL and the bulk of Russian freight will switch from the Baltic states to the freight ports in Russia’s north-west. Thus, several factors of negative significance for Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia will converge in the same period, which could spark full-fledged economic and social crises in the Baltic states.
