On November 17, a group of RIAC members and experts had a meeting with Gernot Erler, Special Representative of the Federal Government of Germany for the OSCE Chairmanship, German MFA Russia, Central Asia, and Eastern Partnership countries Policy Coordinator member of Bundestag Committee on Foreign Affairs, visiting Russia.

On November 17, a group of RIAC members and experts had a meeting with Gernot Erler, Special Representative of the Federal Government of Germany for the OSCE Chairmanship, German MFA Russia, Central Asia, and Eastern Partnership countries Policy Coordinator member of Bundestag Committee on Foreign Affairs, visiting Russia. 

Alexandr Aksenenok, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation, Andrey Kortunov, Director General, RIAC, Irina Zvyagelskaya and Alexander Shumilin, RIAC experts, and German Embassy to Russia employees took part in the meeting.

The following issues were discussed: situation in Syria and in the Middle East, possible resolutions of the Syrian conflict, perspective areas for Russia-West regional partnership, probable role of the USA in the Middle East, Donald Trump joining the office.
