On August 10, 2021, with the assistance of The Shaikh Group political consultancy, the ordinary virtual expert meeting on security issues in the Middle East and North Africa took place.

High-level experts from Russia, the U.S., France, Great Britain, Germany, Sweden, China, and India took part in the discussion. The discussion focused on the political dynamics in Iraq, relations of this country with the United States during Joe Biden administration, and the role of Iraq as a mediator in the dialogue between Iran and Saudi Arabia.

The experts were addressed by Renad Mansour, one of the leading international experts on Iraq, Project Director of the Iraq Initiative at Chatham House, London. Russia was represented at the discussion by Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director General, and Elena Suponina, RIAC expert.
