On February 11, 2019, Friedrich Naumann Foundation Moscow office held a round table "Challenges to the Liberal Principles of International Relations" in the framework of the "Liberal Agenda for the 21st Century" project. The meeting was organized by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation in partnership with the European Dialogue expert group.

On February 11, 2019, Friedrich Naumann Foundation Moscow office held a round table "Challenges to the Liberal Principles of International Relations" in the framework of the "Liberal Agenda for the 21st Century" project. The meeting was organized by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation in partnership with the European Dialogue expert group.

In the course of event, participants discussed current threats to the liberal principles of international relations established by the UN Charter, the Helsinki Act, the Paris Charter for a New Europe and other fundamental documents. Among the main threats to the liberal world order participants named the rise of nationalism and populism in nation states around the world, the growing number of armed conflicts, the destruction of fundamental international treaties, the new wave of the arms race. The participants also proposed a number of measures that could be taken at the international level in order to prevent further destruction of the legal foundations of the current international order.
