On April 29, 2022, Shanghai Institute for International Studies (SIIS), in partnership with The Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard University, hosted the second international high-level expert round table, dedicated to the trends in the development of world politics in the context of acute recent crises.

On April 29, 2022, Shanghai Institute for International Studies (SIIS), in partnership with The Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard University, hosted the second international high-level expert round table, dedicated to the trends in the development of world politics in the context of acute recent crises.

The discussion at the second meeting focused on the role of the Security Council, the General Assembly, and the UN Secretariat in settling international crises, preventing nuclear war and ensuring strategic stability in the world. Other multilateral mechanisms at the regional and global level that could be used in crisis management were also touched upon. Leading international researchers from China, the USA, and Russia took part in the round table. Russian side was represented at the event by Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director General.
