On March 29, 2021, at 10:00 am Moscow time (GMT+3), the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) and the Strategic Vision Institute (SVI, Pakistan) are holding an open Zoom webinar “Russia-Pakistan Cooperation: Regional Interests and Global Context”. The event will be attended by leading experts from Russia and Pakistan.

The webinar seeks to find ways to enhance cooperation between Russia and Pakistan and discuss the approaches of the two states to security issues.

Opening remarks will be made by Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director General, Zafar Iqbal Cheema, SVI President and Executive Director, and Shafqat Ali Khan, H.E. Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Russian Federation.

  • Vyacheslav Belokrenitsky, Head, Centre for the Study of Near and Middle Eastern Countries, Institute of Oriental Studies, Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), RIAC Expert

  • Tariq Osman Hyder, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan

  • Andrey Pavlov, Assistant Professor, St. Petersburg State University, School of International Relations

  • Arif Kamal, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan; former Director of the Institute for Strategic Studies, Research, and Analysis (ISSRA) at the National Defense University, Pakistan

  • Julia Roknifard, Assistant Professor, School of Politics, History and International Relations, University of Nottingham (Malaysia), Consultant for PIR Center, RIAC Expert

  • Ahyousha Khan, Senior Research Associate, Strategic Vision Institute (SVI)
