On April 11, 2012, the President of RIAC I. Ivanov had a meeting with K. Kosachev, the head of the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo). They discussed the ways to enhance the interaction between the two organizations and on the outcome of the negotiations signed a cooperation agreement.

The agreement underscores the desire of both parties to contribute to the development and strengthening of Russian foreign policy, the establishment of an international system that would meet the interests of all the countries and regions of the world and reflect its cultural and civilizational diversity. The interaction will be put into practice via engaging Rossotrudnichestvo’s representative offices – Russian cultural and scientific centers and partnership organizations abroad – by holding scientific and educational events in form of conferences, roundtables, lectures, encounters with Russian and foreign scientists, educationalists and cultural workers. Similarly, the organization of youth meetings with leading foreign policy experts, mutual information support, with the promotion of the Council’s publications abroad, are in the pipeline.
