On May 20, 2020, the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) hosted a meeting with the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Russian Federation. Igor Ivanov, RIAC President, and Zhang Hanhui, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Russia, delivered welcoming remarks.

On May 20, 2020, the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) hosted a meeting with the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Russian Federation. Igor Ivanov, RIAC President, and Zhang Hanhui, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Russia, delivered welcoming remarks.

Participants discussed challenges and opportunities for Russia – China cooperation in the context of COVID-19, as well as the impact of the pandemic on the international situation and possible joint response to the negative trends in the global and regional arenas. Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director General, Sergey Luzyanin, Professor at MGIMO University and Higher School of Economics, Sergey Markedonov, Leading Research Fellow of the Euro-Atlantic Security Center at MGIMO University, and Yury Kulintsev, Research Fellow at the RAS Institute of Far Eastern Studies, took part in the meeting. Ivan Timofeev, RIAC Director of Programs, moderated the discussion.
