On February 20, 2014 in Moscow, a group of RIAC members and experts met a delegation of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the French National Assembly headed by Committee Chairwoman Élisabeth Guigou, ex-Minister of Justice. Moderated by French Ambassador to Moscow Jean-Maurice Ripert, the event was attended by RIAC Director General Andrey Kortunov; RIAC Member Alexey Pushkov, Chairman of State Duma Foreign Affairs Committee; and Academician Vladimir Baranovsky, Deputy Director of RAS Institute of World Economy and International Relations.

The participants discussed current issues of European and global stability, as well as the future of Russian-French relations. The French deputies showed interest in the 2013 paper “Russia and France: 20 Proposals for Long-Term Partnership” co-authored by experts of RIAC and French-Russian think tank l’Observatoire and underlined the importance of expanding cooperation between Russian and French independent analytical centers as a mechanism for advancing the bilateral relations.
