On July 11, 2014, RIAC President Igor Ivanov Director General Andrey Kortunov met New Zealand Ambassador in Moscow Hamish Cooper and Deputy Head of Mission Jennifer Wilton to discuss cooperation between Russia and New Zealand in the context of Ukraine crisis and overall deterioration of Russia's relations with the West. Dr. Ivanov told his counterparts about RIAC’s analytical projects on Asia-Pacific development and security, as well as about RIAC’s short-term plans.

The side also talked about general issues of global governance and improvement of the international organizations system including the United Nations, as well as prospects for Russia’s trade and economic interaction with the future Trans-Pacific Partnership.
