On June 23, 2014, RIAC Director General Andrey Kortunov met governors of the Сhina Institutes of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR), among them President Ji Zhiye, Director of the Department of International Exchanges Professor Du Yanjun, and Vice President Feng Yujun who is also Director of the CICIR Institute of Russian Studies.

The parties discussed possible areas of bilateral interaction, mostly on global governance, and agreed to identify key aspects of global governance in the security area for implementation of Russian-Chinese applied research projects. In the near future RIAC and CICIR plan to sign a framework Cooperation Agreement and outline the cooperation format.
