On April 2, 2019, RIAC hosted a meeting with a delegation of PRC Foreign Affairs Council. Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director General, Timur Makhmutov, RIAC Deputy Director of Programs, Ksenia Kuzmina, RIAC Program Manager, and Alevtina Larionova, RIAC Program Assistant, represented Russia at the meeting.

China was represented by Zhou Xiaopei, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China (retired), Wu Sike, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China (retired), Wang Tung, Third Secretary of the Policy Planning Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, Sun Zhuangzhi, Director, Central Asian Department, Institute for East European, Russian and Central Asian Studies, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Li Xin, Director, Center for Russia and Central Asia Studies, Shanghai Institutes of International Studies, as well as Wang Xiaoli and Huang Jie, attaché of the Chinese Embassy in Moscow.

The parties discussed topical issues of development in the relations between Russia and China, as well as prospects for the implementation of joint projects and the interlinking of regional development concepts in anticipation of the meeting of the two leaders at the second “One Belt, One Road” forum, scheduled to be held in Beijing in late April 2019.
