On May 21, RIAC held workshop "Cooperation in Preservation and Management of Aqueous Biological Resources of the Arctic" within preparation of the report on international cooperation in the Arctic Region.
The event was attended by representatives of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Russian Research Institute for Fisheries and Oceanography, Federal Agency for Fisheries, Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation, RAS Institute of World Economy and International Relations, and MGIMO-University.

Opened by RIAC Director General Andrey Kortunov, the workshop focused on key issues of the Russian-Norwegian cooperation in preservation and management of the Arctic aqueous biological resources, assessment of the Russia-U.S. negotiations on the new fisheries agreement, and also suggested several ideas and recommendations on formulation of an optimal Russian approach to regulation of fisheries in the Arctic Ocean enclave.
The discussion outcomes are meant for the appropriate portion of the report on international cooperation in the Arctic.
