On June 12, the United Nations Headquarters in New York City hosted an international conference on international migrations and development organized by Center for Migration Studies of New York, Washington Migration Policy Institute and Government Offices of Sweden.
The participants discussed impact of various migration types on socio-economic development of donor and recipient countries, the role of diasporas in globalization processes, the dynamics of remittances from labor migrants, the role of private-public partnerships in migration flow management, and influence of migration on global problems.
