The Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) participated in the preparation of the report by Observer Research Foundation (ORF) “Russia’s Engagement with the Global South: From Concepts to Practice.” The report examines areas of cooperation between Russia and countries in the Middle East, South and Southeast Asia, Central Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the South Caucasus.

RIAC Program Manager Ivan Bocharov contributed to the report, authoring one of the chapters on the Middle East, “Navigating Multiple Hotspots: Russia and the Middle East.”

The report also involved experts from a number of Russian academic and research institutions, including the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), the Institute for African Studies of the RAS, the Institute of Latin American Studies of the RAS, the Institute of Philosophy of the RAS, Novosibirsk State Technical University, and Evgeny Primakov Center for International Cooperation.
