On January 12–19, 2020, Paris hosted a series of meetings between the representatives of the academic community and Russian officials with members of the University Consortium network. The training module focused on such topics as the role of perception in relations between Russia and the West, US policy towards Russia, modern world security system, “frozen” conflicts, the policy of world powers in the “in-between” states, and geopolitical aspects of relations between Russia, the USA and the European Union. Particular attention was paid to the discussion of the prospects for improving relations between Russia and Western countries and the resolution of existing contradictions between them.

On January 18, Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director General, delivered a lecture to the Consortium participants on ways to overcome the crisis state of relations between Russia and the West.

Yulia Timofeeva, RIAC Program Assistant, also took part in the academic module of the University Consortium.

University Consortium is an academic project for young researchers in the area of international relations. UC was created in 2015, bringing together the leading universities of Russia, the USA, and Europe into a single network.
