On May 19, 2021, a regular meeting of the Dialogue Europe — Russia Advisory Board, held twice a year under the leadership of Wolfgang Schüssel, Chancellor of Austria (2000–2007), was held online.

The discussion focused on the prospects for energy cooperation between Russia and the European Union in the context of the development of "green energy" and the prospects for introducing a carbon tax in Europe. The keynote address was delivered by Friedbert Pflüger, Professor of the University of Bonn and King's College in London, former Statesman of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Andrey Kortunov, Yaroslav Lisovolik, Nikolay Spassky, Igor Yurgens, RIAC Members; Sergey Utkin, RIAC expert, and other representatives of the Russian expert community and Russian business took part in the meeting. In addition, the Ambassadors of Russia to Austria and Austria to Russia, the EU Ambassador to Russia, and senior officials of the European Union and the Government of Russia took part in the discussions.
