On October 17, 2019, in Moscow, Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC), together with the Emirates Center for Strategic Research and Studies, held a seminar on human rights and politics: experience of Russia and the UAE.

On October 17, 2019, in Moscow, Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC), together with the Emirates Center for Strategic Research and Studies, held a seminar on human rights and politics: experience of Russia and the UAE.

The event was opened by Ruslan Mamedov, RIAC Coordinator of the Middle East Projects, and Abdullah Al Saadi, Deputy General Director for Administrative Affairs of ECSRS. The meeting was attended by leading experts on human rights and political processes in the Gulf region. The speaker on the Emirate’s side was Adnan Al Yasmi, Communications and Public Relations Manager at ECSRS.

Russian side at the seminar was represented by: Leonid Syukiyaynen, Professor of the School of General and Interdisciplinary Legal Studies at HSE Faculty of Law; Grigory Lukyanov, Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Social Sciences, School of Politics and Governance at HSE, Research Fellow at the Center for Arab and Islamic Studies at RAS Institute of Oriental Studies; Vladimir Morozov, RIAC Program Manager, and Ivan Bocharov, RIAC Program Assistant.

The parties identified possible areas for joint research and agreed on the development of further cooperation.
