On May 12, 2021, RIAC and Center for Visegrad Studies at IE RAS held an online international round table discussion on the April crisis in Russian-Czech relations and its consequences for Russia’s relations with the countries of Central Europe. Experts discussed the April crisis, the current state of Russian-Czech relations, the situation in the Czech Republic and the region, ways of resolving the conflict, as well as shared their points of view on the importance of Central Europe for Russia and the prospects for the development of relations between Russia and the Czech Republic, and Russia and Central Europe.

On May 12, 2021, RIAC and Center for Visegrad Studies at IE RAS held an online international round table discussion on the April crisis in Russian-Czech relations and its consequences for Russia’s relations with the countries of Central Europe. Speakers on the Russian side included: Lyubov Shishelina, Head of the Center for Visegrad Studies at IE RAS, RIAC Expert; Vladislav Belov, Deputy Director of RAS Institute of Europe, Head of the Country and Regional Researches Department, Head of the German Research Center, RIAC Expert; Maxim Samorukov, Deputy Editor of carnegie.ru; Igor Yushkov, Lecturer at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation in Russia, Senior Analyst at the National Energy Security Fund, RIAC Expert; Andrzej Habarta, Associate Professor at World Economy Department MGIMO MFA; Ella Zadorozhnyuk, Head of the Department of Modern History of Central and South-Eastern Europe, Institute of Slavic studies RAS; and Anna Chetverikova, Lead Researcher, Section of the EU Studies, RAS IMEMO.

The event was attended by experts from the Visegrad Group: Petr Kratochvíl, Senior Researcher at the Centre for European Politics at Institute of International Relations Prague; Vladimír Handl, Senior Associate at the Centre for European Integration at Institute of International Relations Prague; Witold Rodkiewicz, Senior Fellow at the Centre for East European Studies, University of Warsaw; Juraj Marusiak, Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Political Science, Slovak Academy of Sciences; and Rafał Lisiakiewicz, Cracow University of Economics, Department of Political Studies Staff Member.

The discussion was moderated by Lyubov Shishelina, Head of the Center for Visegrad Studies at IE RAS, RIAC Expert, and Ivan Timofeev, RIAC Director of Programs.
