The conference "Russia and China: Strategic Partnership in a New Era" is the central event of Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) in the area of Chinese studies. Since 2018, the event has been held jointly by the Council and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) alternately in Russia and China on the basis of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Council and the Academy, signed on June 25, 2016, within the framework of the official visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to China in the presence of the heads of the two states.

In connection with the new type of coronavirus pandemic, the 6th International Conference is postponed to May 2021.
In 2020, RIAC will continue its active research of current issues in Russia-China cooperation and, together with the Chinese partners, is preparing to publish traditional analytical articles.
