On June 23, 2022, RIAC, together with Africa Business Initiative, held a strategic session on the new prospects for cooperation and honest communication between Russia and Africa. The event was attended by ambassadors, plenipotentiary ministers, advisers and attachés of 45 African embassies.

On June 23, 2022, RIAC, together with Africa Business Initiative, held a strategic session on the new prospects for cooperation and honest communication between Russia and Africa. The event was attended by ambassadors, plenipotentiary ministers, advisers and attachés of 45 African embassies.

Igor Ivanov, RIAC President, addressed the African diplomatic corps with welcoming remarks and noted the need for the development of international cooperation with African countries on the principles of respect for sovereignty and non-interference in internal affairs.

Konstantin Kosachev, Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, RIAC Member, underscored the importance of creating an independent African center of power as part of a democratic multipolar system.

Russian experts on African issues and representatives of Russian business developing trade and economic relations on the continent addressed African ambassadors.

The ambassadors of African countries to the Russian Federation noted Russia's support for the social, economic and cultural development of their countries and expressed their hope for the conclusion of new significant political, trade and economic agreements within the framework of the 2nd Russia-Africa Summit scheduled for the end of 2022.
