On September 22, 2022, Werner Almhofer, Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to Russia, and Ambassador Martin Sajdik, Special Advisor for Eastern Europe to the Minister for European and International Affairs of the Republic of Austria, visited Russian International Affairs Council.

The discussion addressed promising ways to de-escalate the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, including the possible role of the OSCE and the UN in monitoring the ceasefire agreement along the line of contact between the conflicting parties. The issues of international security guarantees for Ukraine and multilateral aspects of post-conflict territorial reconstitution affected by the conflict were also touched upon.
