On September 22, 2016 the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) held a meeting with a delegation of the Center for Policy Analysis and Development of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, led by Leonard Hutabarat, Head of the Center for Policy Analysis and Development on American and European Regions. The Russian side at the meeting was represented by RIAC Deputy Program Director Timur Makhmutov; Sergey Markedonov, Associate Professor, Department of Regional Studies and Foreign Policy, Russian State University for the Humanities; and Sergei Utkin, Head of Department of Strategic Assessment, Centre for Situation Analysis, RAS Institute of World Economy and International Relations.

On September 22, 2016 the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) held a meeting with a delegation of the Center for Policy Analysis and Development of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, led by Leonard Hutabarat, Head of the Center for Policy Analysis and Development on American and European Regions.

The Russian side at the meeting was represented by RIAC Deputy Program Director Timur Makhmutov; Sergey Markedonov, Associate Professor, Department of Regional Studies and Foreign Policy, Russian State University for the Humanities; and Sergei Utkin, Head of Department of Strategic Assessment, Centre for Situation Analysis, RAS Institute of World Economy and International Relations.

During the meeting the sides discussed some issues of Russian foreign policy and the development of the geopolitical situation in Europe. Special attention was paid to the problems of the Ukrainian crisis, the possibility of weakening the anti-Russian sanctions, as well as prospects for Indonesia’s cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Union.
