On September 3, 2020, Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director General, had a meeting with Toyohisa Kozuki, Ambassador of Japan to Russia.

Various aspects of Russia-Japan relations were discussed during the meeting in the context of the resignation of Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe.

On September 3, 2020, Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director General, had a meeting with Toyohisa Kozuki, Ambassador of Japan to Russia.

Various aspects of Russia-Japan relations were discussed during the meeting in the context of the resignation of Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe. Other topics on agenda included security challenges in the northern part of the Asia-Pacific region, the consequences of the aggravation of the U.S.-China confrontation for both Russia and Japan, and the problems arising in Asia in connection with the U.S. withdrawal from the INF Treaty. Andrey Kortunov informed the Japanese Ambassador about RIAC research projects on the Asia-Pacific vector. The meeting was attended by the staff of the Japanese Embassy in Moscow.
