On May 22, 2026, the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) staff held a meeting with the teachers and students of the International Relations Department of the Ural Federal University (UrFU) named after the first President of Russia B.N. Yeltsin.

On May 22, 2026, the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) staff held a meeting with the teachers and students of the International Relations Department of the Ural Federal University (UrFU) named after the first President of Russia B.N. Yeltsin.

The welcome remarks were delivered by the Director of the International Relations Department of the UrFU Victoria Beliaeva.

Elena Karpinskaya, RIAC Director of Programs, presented the key areas of the Council's activities and told about the cooperation opportunities for students, young professionals, and university professors. These include participation in the RIAC events, a contest for young foreign-affairs journalists, publishing analytical materials on the Council's website, as well as participation in the internship program.

Ivan Bocharov, RIAC Program Manager, also delivered a presentation. His report was focused on the practical aspects of preparing analytical texts on Eastern countries, illustrated with the Middle East region. The discussion was centered on the specifics of the Middle East as an object of study, the possibilities and limitations of expert analysis and practical issues related to the preparation of analytical materials.

After the meeting the speakers answered questions from the participants.
